Kaduna PDP Rally: Jonathan promise to revive textile industries

As the Ruling Peoples Democratic Party PDP campaign train moved to Kaduna, the party presidential candidate in next month’s presidential poll, President Goodluck Jonathan has promised to revive textile industries in the state if reelected.

President Jonathan said the state has already benefited from this administration in ares such as education, transportation and many more from central government, saying the attention would now shifted to revamp the textile industries.

“We cannot change people without education. Education is the key. That is why we brought Muhammed ali because of his vast knowledge in education and youth development.

“But the greater thing we need to do within the next one year is to revive Kaduna textile industries. We understand that it will generate employment opportunities for our people.

“With power in place now, reviving these companies and ensuring continuity will now be easy. We must do everything to revive it, and this would called for partnership with key players in the industry ” he submitted.

Vice President Namadi Sambo had earlier debunked allegations that President Jonathan was anti-North.

According to him, the President has undertaken various projects that will transform the economy of the region.

He said the most expensive project under the Federal Government, the Mambilla Dam, is cited In Taraba, and being constructed at the cost of more than N1.2 trillion.

Sambo said the N300 billion for the construction of the Zungeru power project has been provided by the government, while work on the Kaduna-Abuja standard rail line “is 100 per cent completed”.

“Specifically, in Kaduna State we are determined to bring back the industries in the state by constructing the 215 megawatts power plant at Kudendan that will soon be completed.”

“In a remark, Senate President, David Mark, Who described Kaduna as political melt pot of Northern Nigeria, canvassed the people of the state to vote Jonathan in February poll so he could continue with his transformation agenda which the state was a major beneficiary.

Mark said, Kaduna would lead and other states in the north will follow, “Kaduna should not make mistakes to vote wrong people because we all looking forward to the state. We must not allow those who will rig to succeed. We must stay and defend our vote.

“Mr President has the love of the country at heart than any other presidential candidate today. Here is a man who has done a lot for the country. The least you can do is vote for him to continue his transformation agenda, added the senate president.

Earlier in his welcome address, the executive Governor of Kaduna state, Alhaji Mukhtar Ramalan Yero, commended Mr President for his transformation programmes, saying the state has benefited immensely from them.

He reiterated the commitment of his people to vote Mr President and his vice, Arch Namadi Sambo and other candidates under the party in the forthcoming elections.

“Kaduna state has been a PDP state since 1999 and it will continue to be PDP state.

“Kaduna is one of many states that has benefited immensely. From your transformation agenda.

“We also like to thank Mr President for chosen our own brother and father as your running mate. We in Kaduna state take away our sentiments and look at issues and resolve to vote for you and other candidates of our great party come February,” stressed Yero.

Meanwhile miscreants gathered at the rally chanting Sai Buhari, and all sorts of anti-PDP chant at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium venue of the PDP Rally.
