Kaduna Electric to Commission Injection Sub-station
The Management of Kaduna Electric has assured three communities in Kaduna metropolis, namely Kawo, Kawo new extention and Rafin Guza that the power rationing being alternated between the communities will soon be a thing of past.
The Team Lead, Power System Planning of the Company, Engr. Hamisu Ishaq stated this on Friday during an interview with pressmen.
He disclosed that the Company is working on two options to address the perennial load shedding (power rationing) going on in the three communities.
According to him, “the Kawo 11KV feeder serving the three communities is over-loaded and could not accommodate them at once, hence the decision to carry-out alternate load shedding between the communities”.
Engr. Hamisu Ishaq assured that the Company will upgrade the amored cable on the Kawo 11KV feeder to 300mm to provide a temporary relief while a permanent solution is being worked out.
“There is an NIPP 1x15MVA injection sub-station at Unguwar Dosa which was abandon for some time, we are working with the relevant agencies to ensure completion of the work and commissioning of the project. It is expected that once the Unguwar Dosa injection sub-station come on board, the problem will be permanently solved”, he assured.
He appealed to the three communities be patient as the issue shall be resolved in due course.
Meanwhile, leaders of the three communities have expressed appreciation to the Management of Kaduna Electric for the efforts being made to address the supply challenges in their areas.
A community leader and Chairman of Kawo Community Development Association, Alh. Shehu Dan Tudu commended the Company when he led leaders of the three communities to the site where a 150mm amored cable was being excavated for onward transfer to Kawo.
He disclosed that they shall co-operate and work with the Company to ensure early resolution of the problem.
