#isabiHIV Campaign: UNICEF, KADSACA Sensitizes Northern Celebrities

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), in partnership with Kaduna State AIDS Control Agency (KADSACA), as part of efforts to reach the general public in Nigeria, especially in the Northern part of the country with the #isabiHIV campaigns, on Wednesday continue the sensitization celebrities in Northern Nigeria.
Similar, sensitization was organized in December 2018, by the agency, aimed at sensitising participants on HIV & AIDS ongoing Adolescents and Young Persons (AYP) campaign in Kaduna and to secure their commitment and support for the states All-in-Agenda to end AIDS among AYPs by 2030 in Nigeria.

To promote campaign against stigma and discrimination among AYPs living with HIV in Nigeria, and to promote knowledge on Gender based violence among AYPs.
In his welcome address, Executive Secretary, KADSACA, Dr. David Mark Anthony, who commended the first set of participants for living up to expectation, noted that their efforts are pay of in the state as people now beginning to relate with their message.
He charged them to do more so that more people can be reached. He also urged them to take advantage of their social media platforms to further expand the campaign, so that their fans will not just know their HIV status, but also know how to take appropriate preventive measures.
Also speaking, HIV/AIDS Specialist, UNICEF Kaduna Field Office, Dr. Idris Baba, said the previous meeting with the Actors and Producers was fruitful as most of them are already doing well using their various platforms.
Dr. Baba, commended the participants for always turning up whenever they are called upon, adding that a high number of people are already responding to their messages, as shown in various social media platforms.
He therefore, charged them not to relent in the campaign and always support UNICEF and other agency in ensuring HIV is eliminated, especially among AYPs.
