Hajj: Security agents apprehend five intending pilgrims with kolanuts, palm oil
Five intending pilgrims for this year’s Hajj have been apprehended by security agents at Ilorin International Airport in Kwara State for attempting to carry kolanuts and palm oil to Saudi Arabia.
The state Amirul Hajj, Justice ldrees Haroon, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria on Thursday in Ilorin.
Haroon said the pilgrims, two men and three women, were found carrying the items at the point of departure at the Airport
Haroon warned intending pilgrims against carrying such items to the Holy Land.
The third batch of 505 of Pilgrims from the state had been transported to Saudi Arabia on Wednesday, putting the number so far transported from the state to 1,515.
The last batch of 458 intending pilgrims will leave the state on August 12.
