Group Lambast Sani Over ‘Needless Distraction On El-Rufai’

By Our Correspondent

An advocacy group, the Kaduna Democrats Forum (KDF) has lambasted Senator Shehu Sani for what it described as “needless distraction of unwarranted media attacks on Governor Nasir Elrufai” rather than the vibrant lawmaking business expected of him.

In a statement issued in Kaduna, signed by its Director of Publicity, Ibrahim Garba Giwa, the group noted that while Senators elsewhere were celebrating two years of initiating and executing constituency projects, Senator Sani is busy diverting attention from his failure to deliver on his promises for his constituency to  media tantrums against Kaduna State governor Nasir Elrufai.

It described as a futile revisionism, the attempt by Shehu to continuously rehash old problems that have since been addressed by the government.

The statement also came down heavily on Senator Sani for the recent spread of the rumour in the media that he walked out on governor Elrufai at the commissioning ceremony of the EFCC’s Kaduna Zonal Office, saying “this was a white lie by the Senator in a deliberate attempt to divert public attention and gain cheap media attention”.

The group expressed surprise at “the way and manner a gullible reporter spread the false news of a Shehu Sani walkout on the governor”, when  “Senator  Sani was nowhere to be found throughout the EFCC event”.

The KDF, in the statement, also noted that the Senator’s infantile criticisms of governor Elrufai will not obliterate the milestones recorded so far by the administration.

The statement admonished Senator Sani to embrace the principle of decent politics and shy away from  attention-seeking games. It further advised the lawmaker to demonstrate his love for Kaduna State by identifying with positive ideas, policies and programmes “rather than picking unnecessary quarrels or indulging in revisionism that has so far been a futile move to gain political capital”.
