Gov Yero plans to turn Kaduna into war zone, says APC…

All Progressives Congress APC, Kaduna state chapter has accused Governor Yero of planning to turn Kaduna into a threatre of war and thereby called on the Independent Electoral Commission INEC and the security agencies to stop the Governor from upsetting the peace of the state.
The called was contained in a press statement issued after a press congress addressed by Kaduna State campaign Coordinator of the Buhari/Osinbajo presidential race, Senator Sani Saleh, at the premises of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Kaduna State council yesterday.
The statement added that “we are appealing to the sense of honour of security agents abd reminding them of their oath of allegiance to Nigeria, not any government or individual.
“Beyond the dangerous antics of Yero, the APC Kaduna state campaign Council wishes to draw the attention of all patriotic Nigerians to the fact that the desperate actions being undertaken in Kaduna actually reflect the PDP’s desire to scuttle this month’s schedule elections.
The APC further accused the PDP that “they are vainly trying to suggest that an election period abrogates the basic right of citizens to protest or show disapproval”
“Whenever any community exercises this right, they are dubbed APC members as if the right to protest can only be exercised on patisan lines.
Meanwhile Governor Mukhtar Ramalan Yero had earlier condemned in strong terms the attack on his campaign team by thugs loyal to the All Progressives Congress (APC) at Bakin Ruwa area of Igabi Local Government Area.
A statement by the Media Aide to the Governor, Mallam Ahmed Maiyaki said the thugs were obviously hired by the opposition party to attack the convoy with the sole aim of throwing the state into confusion.
Governor reiterates his commitment to peaceful electoral process while warning that “Government will not fold its arms and continue to watch as a violent minority seeks to intimidate the majority of our people into submission.
“It is unfortunate that the same APC that is chanting change has resorted to violence and threats. This show of desperation by the APC since the beginning of campaigns by the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is a clear indication that the opposition party is afraid of an imminent defeat in the forthcoming polls.”
We condemn the negative antics of the APC in influencing youths to take to violence. The PDP shall continue to resist any attempt at causing mayhem in Kaduna State.
The Governor called on members and supporters of the PDP to remain calm and avoid taking laws into their own hands while warning that “Government will deal decisively with anyone trying to harass innocent people over elections. Every Nigerian is entitle to one vote and no one can deny the people this constitutional right.
