Google, Zamani Foundation Trains 261 Kaduna Women, Youths in Digital Marketing

As part of it’s commitment to continue to empower women and young people in Nigeria, Zamani Foundation in partnership with Google has completed a capacity training and empowerment programme for over 261, women and youths in Kaduna State.
At the event, Chief Executive Officer/Founder of Zamani Foundation, Talatu Zamani–Henry charged the beneficiaries to the knowledge very seriously, adding that the “Foundation is bringing you this opportunity to upgrade and update your ICT knowledge as the world we live in is becoming digitalized.”
She said research has shown that, by 2020 users of internet would increase to 500 million, and about 75% of this population are women and youths under 35 years. These individuals according to her, some of the youths would reach an employable age in the next five years.
This to her is why Google and Zamani Foundation has come together to help reduce the high rate of unemployment by empowering women and youths in the state as digital entrepreneur.
Am confident that this training has opened your eyes and minds to the possibilities of using technology to better your lives. However, it is our goal at Zamani Foundation to see women leverage on this opportunity to develop and grow financially, technically and educationally.
“As you might already know, we are advocates for peace, development and the less privileged. We focus on women empowerment because we believe that when you empower a woman, you have empowered the society. We are interested in the development and growth of families, and the less privileged.
“Recently, we partnered with UN Women, Mastercard and NIMC on the One Woman, One ID CARD project, where we registered over 7,500 Women for the MasterCard branded National Identity card.
“Today, with the support of Google, we have brought you the enlightenment that will assist you break boundaries that exist in our different businesses and vocations.
“Many thanks to the facilitators, Google and their partners for this wonderful collaboration. Am sure we have learnt the secret sauce of using technology to grow our businesses, careers and initiatives.”
In her goodwill message, Wife of the Deputy Governor of Kaduna State, Mrs Ladi Bala Bantex, commended Zamani Foundation for the positive impact of touching lives in the community.
She explained that rather than using internet and social media for positive impact, some people has chosen to be using it negatively. She however, advised all to use the social media to correct one another in a civilized manner.
Participants at the training were excited at the of the programme, and called on Zamani Foundation to expand the empowerment to different locations in the state so that many other people can also benefit.
The conference which had the wife of the Deputy Governor of Kaduna State, the Senior Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Publicity, representative of Special Adviser to the Governor on Social and Community Development ,and representatives of Commissioners of Education, Women Affairs, Commerce and Industry, Military and para military establishments, business women and Men, CAN Women, Muslim Women Association, Youth Associations, CSOs etc were also in attendance, with over 210 participants beneficiaries.
