Ganduje Tasks Civil Servants, Political Office Holder’s on Effective Service Delivery

In its efforts at ensuring synergy and common understanding among all stakeholders in proper implementation of government policies, programmes and projects for the overall socio-economic development of Kano state.
The state governor Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has charged senior civil servants, and political office holder’s to abduct the SERVICOM concept aimed at improving service delivery in line with international best practices.
Delivering his address at the opening of the “2015 Commencement Retreat for Political Office Holder’s, Top Government Functionaries and Directors”, organised by the office of the Head of Civil Service, Kano state, the governor said a successful policy implementation depends upon SERVICOM ‘s variables.
According to him, “policy objective, effective resources management, international communication and enforcement activities, characteristics of implementing agencies economic, social and political conditions and the disposition of the implimenter, and evaluation and feedback are some pointers to achieving a successful project implementation.”
”I am aware that the problem of administration reform is the conflict between traditional and modernisation. Policy implementation is the transformation of decision into operational terms. ” Ganduje identifies.
He said in upholding the change mantra of his party “the progressives elements within the political arena decided to come together to provide purposeful and meaningful leadership at both National and state levels by championing and articulated a political re-direction for the state and coutry atlarge.”
This he said is “aimed at liberating the majority of populace from the shackles of corruption, poor infrastructure, unemployment and poverty to economic growth and prosperity.”
The governor reiterates his commitment to total transformation of Kano state through the continuation of ongoing projects, fine turning of some programmes and introduction of more people oriented projects, policies and programmes in carrying out his mandate.
In his speech, the state head of service Muhammad Awwal Na’aya said the retreat is aimed at providing a platform for relevant stakeholders in governance process to understand the policy thrust of the present administration and the need to ensure synergy in the formulation and implementation of government policies, programs and projects for overall socio-economic development of the state.
Also, the immediate past president of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Mallam Mohammed Garba who is now the Kano state commissioner of information said “the whole idea of the training is to further inform and educate senior civil servants and political of appointees in the state.
”It is aimed at sensitising them to know where we are, where we intends to go and how we intends to achieve it so it is a very important retreat for us.”
