Forgery Trial: AGF Appears Before Senate
Abubakar Malami (SAN), Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, has appeared before the Senate in response to a summons by the lawmakers.
Malami had been invited by the Senate to expatiate on the ongoing trial of principal officers of the upper house on allegations of forging the Standing Rules to enable Bukola Saraki and Ike Ekweremadu emerge Senate President and Deputy Senate President, respectively.
The Senate had threatened to issue an arrest warrant on the AGF after he failed to appear before its Committee on Judiciary and Human Rights earlier.
Although he sent a representative, the Committee insisted the minister must be there in person.
