Environment: NGO Donates 1500 Trees to Kaduna Community

As part of its effort to ensure an environmentally sustained society, A Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), the GreenAid, Nigeria at the weekend donated 1500 economic trees to Unguwar Kudu community in Unguwar Rimu, Kaduna.
The trees which will be planted in residents in the community, comprises of mango trees, orange, guava, oil bean trees and the local dinya trees among others.
The GreenAid in its advancing sustainability programmes, is involved in environmental sustainability, climate-smart agriculture, disaster risk reduction, climate change, agro forestry and renewable energy.
Speaking at the tree planting ceremony, Chief Executive of GreenAid, Dr. Tabi Joda explained that the trees being planted are meant to assist in providing conducive environment to the beneficiaries including fresh air, protection from the direct heat of the sun, serve as wind breaker, source of traditional medicine as well as that of livelihood from the harvest of their fruits.
Dr. Tabi Joda added that they also help in controlling earthquake, flood, climate change which is dangerous to human beings as well as storm and hurricane wind.
The developmental doctor who’s interest is attending and helping people informed that GreenAid had earlier planted trees for the residents that have been of tremendous environmental help to them, pointing out that the present gesture is to further boost their disposition to a better health.
He observed that the residents have now abide to clean environment and appealed to them to continue planting trees especially the economic ones affirming that the tree planting gesture will be continuous and appealed that they nurture as well as tender the new ones planted.
The Village Head of Unguwar Kudu, Alhaji Jibril Mohammed Jibo commended GreenAid for their gesture, appealed to his subjects to ensure seriousness in handling the project while assuring that they take care of the trees.
The Sarkin Unguwar Kudy, Alhahi Abdullahi Wada said that it is a very welcoming gesture and wished that GreenAid would do more in the years to come, while wishing the outfit many years of success.
He called on his people to take tree planting seriously.
