Entrepreneurship: 100 Business Women to get Digital Transformation in Kaduna

A Belgium-based Non-Governmental Organisation, Digital African Woman (DAW), in collaboration with the Kaduna State Government will equip female entrepreneurs with digital skills to tap from the flourishing digital economy.
DAW’ Creative Director, Claudia Chileshe said in a statement in Kaduna on Friday that about 100 female entrepreneurs across the country would benefit from the training that would last for about six weeks.
Chileshe said that the training, which would commence on Monday, July 16, was under a strategic partnership with the Kaduna State Government.
She said that the participant of the training tagged, “Digital Business Innovative Training” would be train on start-up pitch, branding and marketing, design thinking, pricing and sales logistics and product valuation among others.
She said that Kaduna State was chosen because of its commitment to the development of its communities through empowerment of local female entrepreneurs.
“With the support of the Kaduna State Government, Digital African Woman is able to extend its reach to young female entrepreneurs both in Kaduna and surrounding states of Nigeria.
“The development will enable the entrepreneurs leverage more access to international networks, technical skills and visibility.
“Resulting in having an outlet to grow their potential businesses and extend exposure to various investments opportunities using available digital plaforms.
“This year, DAW Training program received over 200 applications to the 2018 Conference to be held in Kaduna, “she said.
She explained that currently about 65 start-ups entrepreneurs have been selected for the four week-long online entrepreneurship development training and would be followed by 10 days of onsite workshops.
The director, however, said that there are still room for additional 35 participants who could register if interested at Kaduna ICT Hub on Monday.
She said that the training program would end with a one-day conference, where participants would have the opportunity to pitch to DAW’s pool of investors on July 28, 2018 for funding.
“The grand finale will be a Celebration and Award Ceremony Ball for the most creative and innovative participant, “Chileshe added.
She thanked the Kaduna State Government for its formidable effort in strengthening business and job opportunities for Nigerians through initiatives like the DAW Conference and the just concluded “Click on Kaduna” where 900 youths were train on virtual economy.
“Such efforts lend hope to the future of Nigeria as a whole and we look forward to a long-term partnership, and the achievement of set goals.
