Encroachment: Arewa Youths Express Worries Over Conversion of National Eye Centre Land to Kidnappers Den
The Arewa Youth Movement for Good Governance has expressed worries over conversion of National Eye Centre Land by encroachers to kidnappers den and criminal hideouts for disgruntled elements.
In a statement signed by the Chairman Alhaji Ibrahim Ahmadu on Tuesday, revealed that “most building along the access road to National Eye Centre are not completed and not occupied, the purported owners owners were those who National Eye Centre dragged to court. Now if happened to pass through Eye Centre road from 8pm to 1amt you will notice strange caliber of boys and men that would scare you, smoking and taking dangerous substances suspected to be hard drugs”
“No normal human being hangs out in uncompleted building at such odd hours, don’t they have families or houses of their own.
“We are calling on the Chief Security Officer of the state Mallam Nasir El Rufai to as a matter of urgency rise to the defense of neighboring communities and the National Eye Centre itself hence the Eye hospital is the only hope for the commoners in Kaduna and indeed Northern Nigeria.”
Ahmadu stressed that “the issue of land encroachment in National Eye Centre has become bad such that even Corporate companies like 9mobile have invaded and installed communication mask the issue already in competent court of law.”
“We hereby call on President Muhammadu Buhari to direct Inspector General of Police to fast track measures in dismantling illegal structures and arresting suspected criminals and Kidnappers” It added.
The group also thank Governor Nasir El rufai for the ongoing massive road construction around the metropolitan area of the state stressing that the good people of the State will never regret giving him the mandate to pilot the State.
