El-Rufai Instructs Ministries To Brief Press Weekly

Kaduna State Governor Malam Nasir El-Rufai has instructed Commissioners in the state to start briefing the press on a weekly basis.
The Commissioner of Youths, Sports and Culture Honourable Daniel Danauta disclosed this when he received the executive members of the Sport Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) Kaduna State chapter who paid him a courtesy call in his office.
According to the commissioner, the marching order is to take effect from next week, saying his own ministry is to brief the press every Thursdays of the week.
The essence of the briefing according to the governor, the commissioner said was to avail the public through the media the opportunity to know how each of the ministry is fairing, viz-a-viz their activities.
He said the era where each ministry run their activities unnoticed is over, adding that such order from the governor is a welcome development because it will put every Commissioner on his toes to deliver according to mandate.
“The governor is committed to keeping to his promise of making Kaduna State great again, and he is not leaving any stone unturned to achieving it, and those of us at the helms of affairs in the various ministries have no option but to follow suit and ensure a total positive turn around in our ministries.
“I know the expectations from my ministry is very high and we are set and ready to reawaken the glory of sport in Kaduna State and restore it to its place” he said.
He lamented however that there has been neglect and abuse of processes and lukewormness in the administration of sport in the past and assured to change the tide.
“We are going to restore grass root, school and community sports, we intend to intend to revive sport in an holistic manner and no single sport will be left out” he stated.
He assured Kaduna SWAN led by its Chairman Abdulraheem Aodu of his readiness to partner with the association in all sporting ramification and render whatever assistance as at when due.
