Sunday morning, denied receiving $30,000 from governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai.

The governor in his kind gesture to the father of Sadiq Usman Isa, was reported to have sent N150,000, and an additional sum of $30,000 and also promised that the boy’s education up to the University level will be taken care by the Kaduna State Government.

But, father of Sadiq, in an interview with newsmen at Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital (ABUTH), Shika,Zaria, denied receiving $30,000, saying “what Bashir Ibrahim Dabo,Special Assistant to Governor El-Rufai, who came on behalf of the governor to the hospital gave me in addition to the N150,000 cash, was $100 cash, which I changed to N29,500. So I am surprise to hear that, we received $30,000 which is not true.

“My son has been operated upon, even though he has lost his vision completely, many sympathizer still troop in to offer help for treatment anywhere in the world which is very good and encouraging.

“My family and I are most grateful to government and everybody who supported us in the trying time and we are still soliciting for God’s miracle to restore my son’s vision and to expose the perpetrators,” father of Sadiq said.

Bashir Ibrahim Dabo,Special Assistant to Governor El-Rufai who later confirmed the amount in reply to a text message sent to his number.

He said: “It was just one hundred and fifty thousand with a hundred us dollar and we are working toward sending him to India inshaalahu.”

Meanwhile, some people who comment on the issue called on the governor to investigate the matter and ask his aide who delivered the money on his behalf.

According to them it is possible that governor El-Rufai sent the said $30,000 as was speculated but didn’t get to the beneficial, hence the the for him to find out before the people begin to get a wrong impression of him on a gesture that should be commended.
