Edo Guber Race: I don’t Indulge in Mudslanging- Says APC Aspirant

As the struggle to clinch the All Progressives Congress Governorship ticket for the Edo gubernatorial contest draw nearer, one of the twelve aspirants for the APC ticket, ENGR. CHRIS OSA OGIEMWONYI has vowed not to engage in petty politics like some of the Aspirants are doing.

Ogiemwonyi in a Press statement signed by his campaign Organisation’s Director of Planning, Strategy and Operations,
Mr Akemokue Lukman and made available to journalists in Abuja on Sunday stressed that “ENGR. CHRIS OSA OGIEMWONYI is a professional in his field and a Core Technocrat who reacts on issues based on principle to correct anomaly and to restore order. He never engages in petty blame trade or deforming the character of Edolites.

The statement stated further that “He is way above that and too intelligent to be involved in an “agbero” trade of words. He wants to govern when elected a Governor of our great state and set the state on the right path of growth, increase and prosperity.

“Irrespective of our political divide, interests and believe system, as a true progressive and Statesman, Engr Chris Osa Ogiemwonyi believes in values, respect for our systems, culture/elders and progress of Edo people….
He is busy making plans for the good of the people than to be engaged in petty trading of words or any form of character assassination, as some “gutter politician do just to score cheap political points.

The statement however, maintained that
“Chris believes in the democratic system of his Party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) and also uses this medium as a leader, father, elder, and stakeholder to advise all other groups and campaign organizations to be civil and refrain from gutter politics.
Our campaigns are issues based and driven.

It would be recalled that, Engr Chris Campaign organisation last monday accused the team of another aspirant, Mr. Godwin Obaseki of buying Delegates Permanent Voters Cards PVCs with the intent to influence the June 18th APC Primaries in Edo State an allegation Obaseki denied.

Engr Chris was also among the ten aspirants signed a letter addressed to the APC National Chairman, John Odigie-Oyegun alleging intimidation and harassment of party officials and political appointees on the basis of their choice of aspirants.

The Edo APC have been submerged in a series of crises occasioned by allegation of imposition by the state Governor Adams Oshiomhole, which he had denied nd the National Leadership of the APC have waded into the matter and peace was said to have been reached.
