Edo 2016: PDP Primary Set For Monday      …..Gov Umahi to Chair Committee‎

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) primaries in Edo state say members from all parties are welcome to be members but not aspirant.

This clarification was made by the Publicity Secretary of the Party, Chris Nehikhare, in Benin City yesterday at an exclusive interview with some foreign media organizations.

The Publicity Secretary, said that the primary will hold on Monday, June 20, 2016, with three aspirants contesting for the PDP candidacy to represent the party in the September 10, 2016 Governorship election.

The three screened PDP aspirants are Osagie Ize-Iyamu, Solomon Edebiri, Mathew Iduoriyekemwen.

He reemphasised that the party has met all the constitutional requirement as and INEC regulations in respect of conducting primaries. Chris Nehikhare, went on to disclose that the screening committee headed by Professor Adeniran had since screened the aspirants, while the former governor of Benue state, Gabriel Suswan was the leader of the electoral panel that conducted the adhoc delegates election in the state.

Chris Nehikhare, added that Governor David Nweze Umahi of Ebonyi state is to chair the PDP Edo 2016 gubernatorial Primaries.
