Edo 2016 : Masari, 6 others to conduct APC guber primaries

Kastina State Governor, Aminu Bello Masari has been selected along 6 others persons by the National Secretariat of the All Progressives Congress ( APC)
to conduct the Saturday June 18th gubernatorial of the APC in Edo State.

Masari, who is to serve as the chairman of the committee will be assisted the following members of the committee as stated by the party; Andrew Uchendu (Secretary),Yusuf Maiaguwa (member), Dr.Tunde Esan (member), Shuaibu Musa (member), Ibrahim Soja (member) and Amara Iwuanyawu (member).

The party also inaugurated an election appeal committee which will be chaired by Opeyemi Bamidele, a former member of the Federal House of Representatives alongside Mustapha Salisu and Ekwy Onyido.

Osita Isunazo, The National Organising Secretary of the party while reeling out the guidelines for the two committees informed that 2873 delegates are expected to vote at the primaries that will be contested by twelve aspirants.

” we have the ward delegates comprising of twelve (12) persons per ward multiply by 192 wards in Edo State, we also have local governments delegates, 26 persons per local government multiply by 18 local government in Edo State, the State Executive Delegates, 35 and statutory delegates 66 totaling 2873 delegates”. He informed.

In his remark, the chairman of the committee and the executive governor of Kastina State, Aminu Masari assured that his committee will work in accordance with the party’s guidelines just as he assured to conduct a primary that will be free and fair in the interest of all the aspirants.

“On behalf of members of my committee, I want to assure you that we will follow the guideline given to us by the party. I want to also assure you that we will do our best and produce the best and we hope that there will be no work for the Appeals Committee. We are going to do a thorough job. I also want t use is opportunity to assure those who are not here that we will do Justice to all.

“We have no preferred candidate, we have no friends and what we will be doing in Edo, we will be doing ( it in the interest) of APC, for Nigeria and for the Edo people”. He said
Masari who also called for corporation from the aspirants also informed that the committee has scheduled a meeting for Friday with all the twelve aspirants on how to achieve a smooth exercise.

“Tomorrow,,we are having meeting with all the contestants. You can’t go to conduct primaries without meeting the contestants,role out the rules and guidelines and hear their own contribution with regard to how to make the exercise smooth”.
