Edo 2016: Delegates Endorse Esele

Some All Progressives Congress (APC) delegates to Edo State governorship primary slated for June 18 have tipped Comrade Peter Esele as the best man for the party’s flag bearer.

Comrade Victor Ifada, President of Uzoya Esan Peoples Welfare, urged delegates to be circumspect and vote for the best candidate on Saturday.

Esele, former President of the Trade union Congress (TUC), said that the endorsement, which was initiated by his kinsmen in Edo Central Senatorial District, cut across the two other Senatorial districts in the state.

Ifada urged the delegates, particularly Esan people, not to be induced by “an integrity challenged aspirants” whom he said have embarked on borrowing spree to pursue their inordinate political ambition at the expense of the state.

He advised the aspirants not to take any loan that would mortgage the future of the state by plunging it into debt and use their tenure to service it, adding that “Esele has integrity, values and respect for the people and the state.”

He also called for prayers for the APC delegates not to sell their future because they owe Nigeria a duty to remain worthy ambassadors.

Comrade Richard Idehen, a scion of the Iyase N’ Udo family in Ovia South West and APC delegate; Comrade Ismail Ogbomegha, Organising Secretary of APC Ward 3, Etsako West Local Government Area, and Comrade Emmanuel Ojo, APC youth leader in Esan Central, in their separate remarks, cited Comrade Peter Esele’s blueprint for agricultural revolution, quest for education development and his passion for job creation as reasons for endorsing him.
