Early Child Development: KADBEAM, Stakeholders Review Implementation, Develop Tracking Tool

Kaduna Basic Education Accountability Mechanism (KADBEAM), with support from Lafiya Project, a UK Government’s Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) program in Nigeria, is facilitating a stakeholders meeting to review the implementation of Early Child Development (ECD), and to also develop a tracking tool on service delivery across sectors in Kaduna State.
The state Co-chair of KADBEAM, Mr. Tijjani Aliyu, said bringing stakeholders from different sectors together is very important to child development which made it necessary for all to work together in the implementation review and development of tracking tool.
He noted that the quality of education of a child is depended on his health status, therefore it is important for stakeholders in the health and education sectors to ensure the citizens get the right services as at when due.
Mr. Aliyu, thanked participants for promptly responding to participate despite short notice and urged them to work tirelessly in ensuring the state get the ECD implementation right.
The three days meeting which is ongoing in Zaria, with both state and non state actors is aimed to give the state government and the 23 local governments opportunity to share on sectoral implementation of ECD, strategic approach, successes and impact. Identify entry points and citizens integration in the implementation of ECD.
Co-facilitate a dialogue on the multi sectoral approach on the implementation of ECD in co-create a tracking tool for WDCS, SBMCs, Social Protection Champions, Community Development Charter (CDC) Champions/Local Government Accountability Mechanism and CBOS on service delivery for Kaduna State.
Earlier in his remarks, Mallam Mustapha Jumare, the Co-chair of the Kaduna Maternal New-born Accountability Mechanism (KADMAM), commended the organizers for selecting the quality of participants for the meeting.
He said the state and Civil Societies (CSs), have been having very strong harmonious partnership to ensure citizens get the best services from the government.
