Don’t Engage In Violence, Protect Your Votes- Buhari

The All Progressive Congress presidential candidate and former Head of state General Muhammadu Buhari yesterday urged his teaming supporters to ensure that they protect their votes in the forth coming general elections, but urged them to shun all forms of violence.
Addressing a mammoth crowd at the Murtala Muhammed square venue of the Kaduna rally, General Buhari assured the people of the state to fix the security sector and revive the textile industries that have collapsed.
He noted that Kaduna State used to be the industrial hub in northern but lamented that all that is now a thing of the past, stressing that if voted into power come February 14th, he will ensure that enabling environment is provided that will attract investors into the country and by extension into the state.
The APC hopeful who urged the supporters to vote out the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the elections at all levels on grounds of incompetence and bad governance, further assured that the APC government will also fix the education and Agricultural sectors.
On his call against violence, Buhari who spoke in Hausa said, “I did not ask you to kill anybody, but for you to protect your votes, and I promise you that I will not fail you if you give me your mandates through your votes.
“Within the first two years of my administration if voted into power, my focus will be to revive industries, fix roads, reform the education sector, and equip our hospitals.
Earlier in his speech, the North West chairman of the APC Inuwa Abdulkadir who reacted to insinuations that the presidential candidate is sick, said, “People said General Buhari is sick, yes he is sick, but sick for bad leadership, poor governance, bad roads, unfulfilled promises, corruption, and impunity.”
It is worthy of note that the rally venue was filled to capacity as early as 8am even though the rally did not commence until about 6:25pm when general Buhari arrived the venue.
Some of the dignitaries that graced the rally include, Speaker of the House of Representatives and APC governorship candidate of Sokoto State Aminu Tambuwal, Sokoto State governor Aliyu Magatakarda Wammako,former governors of Kebbi and Kogi Adamu Aliero and Prince Abubakar Audu, Governorhip candidate of Kebbi State, Senator Muhammadu Magoro and that of Kaduna Mallam Nasir El-rufai, governor of Rivers State Rotimi Ameachi and former governor of Lagos state Asiwaju Nola Ahmed Tinubu among others.
