Distribution of Child Birth Spacing Commodities: FHANI Lauds Kaduna Government
By Hauwa Negedu, Kaduna
Family Health Advocates in Nigeria Initiative (FHANI) has commended the Kaduna State Government for distributing Child Birth Spacing (CBS) commodities to healthcare facilities in the state.
FHANI Chairman, Alhaji Mohammed Tijjani in a statement on Tuesday, said the action is a demonstration of State Government’s commitment to ensuring better reproductive health for residents of the state amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to him, “the fear exercised by residents and partners over reproductive health of families, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic period will now be addressed.
“The shortage of CBS commodities already experienced in the state will drop drastically.
“We also commend the state government for keeping the Primary Healthcare Centres open for residents to access antenatal care and immunisation services among others.”
He called on Federal Government to live up to its expectations of timely supply of needed CBS commodities to citizens, in order to reduce the high burdens of maternal deaths experienced in the country.
