Cuban Communist Party Seeks Partnership With Nigeria, Invites APC Leadership

The Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba has indicated interest to partner Nigeria in the areas of technology transfer and healthcare, particularly preventive medicine. This was conveyed by the Cuban Ambassador to Nigeria, His Excellency Carlos Trejo Sosa on Tuesday when he visited the National Secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to invite the National Leadership of the party to visit the Republic of Cuba.
The Ambassador who was at the APC Secretariat in company of the deputy Head of Mission, Embassy of the Republic of Cuba, Ms. Miriam Morales Palmero said;”“We are confident that under the leadership of the All Progressive Congress, the existing historical links between our two peoples will continue to strengthen.
In a letter of invitation addressed to the APC National Chairman read: “On behalf of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, the Cuban Ambassador to Nigeria, His Excellency Carlos Trejo Sosa on Tuesday invited the National Leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to visit the Republic of Cuba.
The letter, which was signed by the Head of the International Relations Department, Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, Jose Ramon Balaguer Cabrera further stated that “We take up this opportunity to invite you to visit our country leading a delegation of your party. Your visit will be an excellent occasion to exchange opinions of mutual interest.”
He added that the invitation coincided with 30 days festivities to celebrate the abolition of slave trade in the Republic of Cuba.
Responding, the APC National Chairman hailed the good and long-standing relationship between Nigeria and the Republic of Cuba. He thanked the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba for the invitation extended to the APC leadership to visit the Republic of Cuba.
