Covid-19 Palliatives: Senate Leader, Donates N12m, Food Items, Clothing to His Constituency

Senate Leader, Senator Dr. Yahaya Abdullahi has donated N12m cash and food items to members of his constituency in an effort to complement Governments in ameliorating hardships created by the Covid’19 pandemic.
Senator Yahaya, who represents Kebbi North Senatorial Zone, while presenting the Money and other items to the six (6) Local Governments in the constituency, said the gesture is part of the palliative support to the people.
He added that He is ready to support the people in any ramifications to ensure everyone gets the needed assistance in this trying time.
The Federal Lawmaker who was represented by his Personal Assistant incharge of Domestic Affairs, Alhaji Sanusi Abubakar noted that the Nigerian Senate is working hard in making Laws that will reduce the suffering of the masses, adding that they will put sanity on the current situation in the country.
“The N12m and food items such as 300 bags of Rice, and also 1,200 clothing materials and others will be distributed to the 6 LGs under my senatorial district. He said.
The Senate Leader who engages Religion leaders, Traditional Institutions, political elite and other stakeholders to participate in the distribution of the palliatives, cautioned that the beneficiaries should be vulnerable families alone in each of the communities.
The Dr. Yahaya, urged beneficiaries of the ongoing Mallam Awan Kabi farmers N40m Loan scheme program which was introduced and initiated by him in collaboration with the NIRSAL Microfinance Bank across the 6 LGs to work hard and use the opportunity to become self employed.
“You see all the beneficiaries drawn fr across the six local government areas of the constituency will enjoyed the soft loans of N40million to assist them in purchasing farm tools and equipment, and also, ensure food production throughout the year to cushion the effect of the global food shortages occasioned by the COVID-19 pandemic” he added.
In his remarked, Bagudo Local Government chairman, Alhaji Mohammadu Hakimi, on behalf of the other LGAs Chairmen, thank the Senator for the gestures, assuring him of sharing the items accordingly.
“You are a great politician’s that have the interest of the people at heart, you brought this good news to our Local Governments you represented during this difficult period, we need this and people are praying for you, May Allah bless you and guide you through” he added.
