Buhari’s wife starts children’s hospital in Katsina
The wife of the President, Hajiya Aisha Buhari, on Thursday, laid the foundation of a 50-bed capacity maternal and child hospital in Daura, Katsina State.
She said the project would be completed this year.
Hajiya Buhari said the project was being carried out by her NGO ,the Aisha Buhari Foundation, adding that similar hospitals will be built in other parts of Nigeria.
She explained that the project was borne out of the need to make healthcare delivery more accessible to pregnant women and nursing mothers and their babies with a view to reducing maternal and child death in Nigeria.
She clarified that the maternal and child hospital would be run by her foundation, adding that the hospitals will augment health care delivery in the country.
Hajiya Buhari assured the people that when the hospital become operational, it would provide free treatment and medication for less privileged families.
She maintained that President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government was working towards the improvement of health care delivery and make it more accessible and affordable to Nigerians.
The wife of Vice-President, Dolapo Osinbajo, who accompanied Hajiya Buhari to the occasion, said she identified with the project, adding that it would bring succour to many Nigerians.
