The party had on Wednesday last week sent a letter of invitation Senator Shehu Sani to appear within 7 Days before a disciplinary committee set up by the Kaduna APC acting Chairman, Shuaibu Idris to clear himself over what the party termed “Anti Party Stand”.‎

Speaking at a conference Tuesday, Kaduna APC Spokesperson, Salisu Tanko Wusono expressed displeasure over the Senator’s refusal to accept the letter of invitation.‎

He urged Senator Sani to appear before the committee within the stipulated 7 days  or face the wrath of the party.

However, Senior Special Adviser, Political and Ideology to the Senator, Comrade Suleiman Ahmed, argued that the senator rejected the invitation on grounds that he does neither knows the person who signed the letter nor party office address.

“If the address of the party office in Kaduna he knew has been changed, Senator Shehu Sani was to be informed, in the same vein if an acting chairman was appointed, he should have been notified”. Ahmed stated.

He maintained that because  he was not notify about the APC  acclaimed state chairman and secretary, he would not respond to their invitation.

Ahmed who insisted that the current acclaimed chairman and secretary of APC in the state are mere extension of government house, accused El-Rufai of sponsoring them to suspend the senator out of fear of his overwhelming popularity and performance.‎

He emphasized that “From now till 2019, Senator Shehu Sani will continue to challenge any of El-Rufai’s policy suspected or adjudged to be anti masses.”‎

When contacted via phone on the issue, Senator Sani, who is the Chairman, Senate Committee on Foreign and local debts, questioned that “a situation where the APC is factionalized in the state, which of the executive set up committee to invite me?”‎

According to him, the invitation is just a cooked plan to smear his good name.‎

“It is obvious that some persons within the corridor of power have hands in this purported invitation.” Sani maintained.

He vowed not appear before any committee until the crisis rocking the party in the state is resolved, adding that he has not committed any offence to warrant such “sponsored invitation”.‎
