Follow a trending video alleging Fulanis are being chased out of the Southeastern part of Nigeria, particularly Enugu State, the Arewa Youth Forum, (AYF) on Thursday charged the Federal government and the security agencies to immediately launch a mahout again those behind what they called “fake video”.

AYF in a statement signed by it National President, Gambo Ibrahim Gujungu, called for investigation and arrest of trying to create crisis between the Igbos and the Fulanis.

According to the, “those behind the video are agent provocateur, merchants of violence who did not wish the country well.

“In view of the prevailing situation in the country, it is unfortunate that some people would just deliberately want to cause confusion and chaos in the country”.

“It is in view of this that we are calling on security Agents and the Federal government to thoroughly investigate those behind the video. Their plot is nothing other than to cause disaffection in the country, which might lead to crisis.

“Arewa Youth Forum is also using this medium to call on the Governor of Enugu state, His Excellency Ifeanyi Ungwanyi to join hands with heads of security operatives in the state to expose those behind this dastardly act capable of causing disaffection across the country.”

Gujungu also said the forum is aware that the faceless people behind the video are political enemies of the Enugu state Governor, who are jealous of his achievements and Nationalistic tendencies, that have been commended across the country.

Recently, the Enugu state police command of the Nigeria Police Force raised an alarm over an alleged video in circulation and with a caption “Enugu Youths Chase Out Fulani Herdsmen and their cows back to North”.

The command also “inform members of the public particularly law abiding citizens of the state that no such incident took place or recorded by the command in any of the communities in the state as painstaking enquiries conducted as well as intelligence information gathered, could not establish that the alleged incident took place in Oduma community and its environs as reflected in the said video clip.

“The command further wishes to inform members of the public that the purported video clip is just the same video that was earlier circulated alleging same incident at Nenwe in Aninri which is a nearby community to oduma of Aninri Local Government Area of Enugu state.

“The command however view the video clip as an attempt to cause disaffection, disunity and promote hatred amongst people of various ethnic backgrounds.” the police command had said.
