Anti-Corruption War : Start Probe From 1999 Shehu Sani Advises Buhari

Following accusations that President Muhammadu Buhari’s war against corruption is being selective, the senator representing Kaduna Central senatorial zone, Senator Shehu Sani has said that President Buhari have an option to start his probes from 1999 or continuously being accused of being selective.
Speaking to Kaduna Online Reporters (KOR) who were at his residence in Kaduna at weekend, the Senator said there is link between what has happened from 1999 and the Jonathan administration.
He explains that “everything that happens has a link
to what has happened before, and if we are actually going to probe what
has happened in the past we should be holistic.
“If he refuse to probe
from 1999 to date there is every likely hood that he will be accused of
shielding the government of President Obasanjo.
Sani advises the president to be conscious of the time before him “because he has four years and not
forty years to spend. So, it is left for him as a leader to do the
work while taking cognisance of the time before him.
”Nigerians will not
judge you by what you intend to do but they will judge you by what you have been able to archive, so if you have a paradise to construct you have four years, and if you have an Eldorado to build you have four years.
”Nobody will take the excuse after four years, you now say
if it was six or five years you would have archived better.
“In the political
sphere uncompleted project is not counted as an achievement, it is a finished project that is counted as an achievement. That is why people are being deceived when public office holders start projects that are uncompleted with their names there, but leave the project unattended to.
“So Buhari should probe all of them and those found guilty should be
prosecuted. What has happen in the last 16years is that you have
bundles and volumes of probe reports; the power sector probe, the energy sector, probe in land allocation, probe in transport sector,
probe in the housing sector, probe in the health sector now all those book have become doctoral thesis.
