Am Alive says Shagari, task Nigerians on peace

Contrary to the rumour that flooded the social media on Sunday night that, former Nigerian President, Alhaji Shehu Shagari has past away, the elder statesman has dispelled the rumour, when he appeared before journalists who visited his resident on Monday.
The second Republic President who was silent about the rumour of his death that caused a scare on social media on Sunday night, but was only thankful to the journalists who took time to visit him at his No 22, Shehu Shagari crescent, Adarawa House, Sokoto.
Addressing the press, Alhaji Shehu Shagari who is also the Turakin Sokoto, appealed to the press to pass the message of peace to Nigerians, particularly at this period of election.
“I thank you heartily for your visit. Let me use this opportunity to appeal to you and through you to all Nigerians to continue to give peace a chance especially during this election.
It would be recalled that the Second Republic President Clock 90 on the 25th of February this year, where President Goodluck Jonathan and other six former Nigerian Leaders; Gen Yakubu Gowon (rtd), Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, Gen Ibrahim Babangida(rdt) Gen Abdulsalami Abubakar, chief Earnest Shonekan and later Gen Muhammadu Buhari (rtd) visited Sokoto to celebrate with him.
Where he (Shagari) thank Almighty Allah for his life sojourn on earth, and assured that he will continue to contribute his quota to the development of this country as long as he is alive.
