Activist donates 500 Basic Education Textbooks translated to Hausa, Fulfulde to Kaduna Govt

Kaduna based Civil Rights Activist, Comrade Abdul Bako Usman, on Thursday, donated 500 basic education textbooks to the Kaduna State Government.
Bako, who is passionate about seeing every child in Kaduna get educated, noted that irrespective of location and language, education must be taken to them.

Presenting the books to a Permanent Member, Kaduna State Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Dr. Jamilu Haruna, who stood in for the Executive Chairman of the Board, Dr. Mubarak Mohammed, the activist explained that the gesture is inline with Governor Uba Sani’s commitment to bring children in the state out of the shackles of illiteracy.
According to him, “the translated textbook into local languages such as Hausa and Fulfulde in compliance with Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council (NERDC) curriculum for Universal Basic Education, will help the children in their civic and formal education.”

He commended the Governor for his efforts towards education and making sure peace return to the state, noting that people now move freely around the state most especially Kaduna to Birnin Gwari, Kaduna to Dogon Dawa and Birnin Gwari to Funtua.
Bako, however urged the governor not to relent in engaging former outlaws in the State by further extending education to them and their families by catching them young, which he said the textbooks can serve as a good tools.
Receiving the textbooks, Dr. Jamilu, who expressed appreciation for kind gesture, promised to forward the books to the Executive Chairman of the Board who will submit them to the Commissioner of Education, who will further parent them to the Principal Private Secretary to the Governor.
He said the board is working tirelessly to ensure the state records great reduction in insecurity through sound, qualitative and informed education which the textbooks will serve as a tool.
