The Peoples Redemption Party’s Senatorial candidate for Kaduna Central zone, Senator Shehu Sani, said his intention to return to the senate is aimed at liberating Kaduna people from the oppression of those who felt government is their birthright, as people stand to make a choice between freedom and bondage.
Sani, who is also the current Senator, representing, Kaduna central Senatorial zone, stated this when he paid a surprise visit to the Secretariat of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), in Kaduna state on Tuesday, immediately after flagging off his campaign.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), had opened the window for campaigns for presidential and National Assembly elections on 18th November 2018.
The Senator, noted that 2019 elections in Kaduna state, is a decision between bondage and freedom which the people have to take.
According to him, “this is the time for people to make their choice that will define their future. The choice is a choice of freedom and bondage. It is either you vote to be out of Egypt or you vote to remain.
“In the next few months, Nigeria shall be transiting to the new face in its history, and this is a time for people to make decisions on those that determine their future and this choice will also determined their path.
“Kaduna is in a state of dictatorship and if the people make the mistake of voting a tyranny, they should not complain. Use your card to remove the toxic elements from the government.”
Shehu Sani, said his presence at the National Assembly is a living testimony to the fact that showed that one don’t need to stay so long at the parliament before he can make impact.
He added that in the last three and half years, he has represented the people of Kaduna Central to the best of his ability, warning his opponents that Kaduna central Senatorial seat is not for sale and not for thugs, but for people who can stand for the light of the day and dark of the night.
“The parliament is the most important institution of the government with people of intellectual capacity, and people of independent minds that can see the needs of their people through various legislative activities.” Sani said.
The Senator, therefore called on the media to discharge their responsibility without any fear of intimidation, urging them to be fair, firm, and remain strong.
