180 Vulnerable, PLWDs Benefits from Kebbi, FG, Women Palliatives

180 vulnerable women and Persons Living With HIV has benefitted from palliatives jointly distributed by the Kebbi State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development and the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs with support from UN Women, state official has said.
The State Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Women Affairs, Hajiya Aisha Mohammed Maikurata in a statement on Thursday said the palliative was to ameliorate the hardship the women are going through as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.
According to Her, the partnership with FG and UN Women was aimed at supporting the poorest of the poor women in the state.
She explained that most of the beneficiaries of the gesture are widows, HIV patients and people with disabilities which is targeted at improving their livelihood and support them to care for their families and children.
“In realization of this goal today, the Ministry had the first phase of the palliative distribution and the beneficiaries were 50 women with disabilities, 50 widow, 50 elderly, and 30 people living with disabilities” she added.
Maikurata, added that the palliative support items are food items such as Rice, Garri, a Gallon of palm oil, Bathing soap among others were distributed to all the 180 beneficiaries.
She commended the efforts of the Kebbi State Governor for supporting the women and less privilege in the State and ensuring that the lives of the people is been touched.
She also thanks the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs and UN Women for their genuine commitment to the mandate of the ministry as Center home of service to humanity in the State.
