15 killed, 30 injured in Kano suicide bomb attacks
About 15 people were reported to have been killed while 30 people were injured when two female suicide bombers detonated their improvised explosive devices at a popular GSM market in the Kano metropolis.
However, the police in the state confirmed the death of five persons, including the two female suicide bombers, in the explosions which occurred at the market located at Farm Centre area in Kano, on Wednesday.
An eyewitness told the journalists that he counted 15 bodies being evacuated by rescue officials at the scene of the tragedy.
The eyewitness also said more than 30 people who were injured were taken in about five vehicles to the hospital for medical attention.
But the state Commissioner of Police, Mr Muhammad Katsina, confirmed the death of five people while briefing newsmen in Kano.
Katsina also said that eight other persons sustained injuries during the incident which happened around 4.30 p.m.
