Sports Development: Destiny College Hosts 16 Schools to Inter School Games

As part of effort to rejuvenate schools sports in Nigeria, Destiny College Kaduna will on Saturday, 18th 2017, host Secondary Schools in the State in it’s first Annual Inter Secondary School Athletics Competition.

Addressing a pre-event press briefing, on Friday, Proprietor of the College, Mr. Busayo Akintude, noted that sport is a tool for the development of mind and body that will impact positively on the society. 

He explained that education is not only confined to the four walls of the classroom but also on the tracks and field where talents are discovered. 

According to him, Seventeen (16) Schools across the state will be participating in the games, adding that, Destiny College is not only hosting the tournament to win but contributing to the search of athletes at the grassroots levels who will win medals for the country both in national and international competitions.

In her, remark the Head Coach of the College, Mrs Princesses Ojeagbase said the College has  produced some young sportsmen for the state and they are now champions in the chosen fields.

Also speaking, North West Zonal Chairman of  Sport Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) Alh. Abdulraheem Aodu commended Destiny College for the vision to host the interschool competition saying many talents in the country are not discovered at early stage and that makes them useless.
