Muslim women donate Xmas Tree, Food Items to Church, Christian Widows‎

As part of effort in promoting peace & harmony ,love ,togetherness and religious tolerance in this season of yuletide, some Muslim women has donated a christmas tree to Christ evengelical intercessary fellowship ministry Sabon Tasha Kaduna, kaduna state.

This is meant for the decoration of the church to beautify it with Tree and Light, wreaths, stocking, garment, ornament so as to strengthen peaceful co-existence, better understanding of different faith among Muslims and christians in Nigeria.‎
Hajiya Maryam Abubakar, Chairperson of Women Hood School of Health Science and Technology kaduna, who lead a team of some muslim women to the church leader to present the Christmas gifts and some other items to the widows that are face with challenges of feeding their children during this season, said the Christmas tree is significant to the celebration of the festival.  ‎

According to her, “i have observed that The christmas tree is very vital to the life of every christians in this planet, and that is why I bought it for them, and I donate it to the church only, for every member to see it, so as to enable christian know that muslims are their brothers, and to join them in celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ.

She explained that “apart from donating Christmas tree, we decorate it at the pastors house, we also distribute Food items to some widows at the churches, we do this with the sole aims of assisting our sisters widows with Food to cook at the christmas, because christmas is a season filled with joy, fun and merriment, a season of yuletide.‎

“At the moment I entered a shop at the central market asking them of a christmas tree,every one was wondering and asking what would a muslim women got do with the christmas tree,so many people were asking me of it,but I know it important to every christians in the world ,that is why I bought it for my brothers and sisters,to enabled them know that muslims are their brothers,and we wish them happy xmas and happy new year.”‎

Hajiya further stated that, “last year I fed about 500 Christian inmates in the spirit of Christmas and New Year celebration.

“We fed them in the spirit of togetherness and to join them in celebrating birth of our noble Jesus Christ.

“I want them to have a good taste of food with beef different from what they are offered inside the prison.

“I want my brother and sister Christian inmates to know that today is Christmas. We only cooked for 500 inmates.”‎

She appealed to Muslims and Christians to learn to live in peace.

In his remark pastor Yohanna Buru, the general overseer of the church appreciate the leaders of the muslim women, adding “this is the fisrt of its kind to see such a beautiful gift from a muslim,and this shows the sign of care and understanding of all the faith organization”‎

Pastor buru stressed the need for muslims and christians to live in peace and harmony in view of the fact that both worshiped one God, and called on every Nigerian to shun all forms of ethno-religious and political crisis and support the new government with prayers and also participate in the fight against curruption in the country.‎

He urged the federal and state government to provide adequate security during the christmas at churches,bus station,packs,to avert any troubled before,during and after christmas and new year celebration.‎

“last years we celebrated the xmas with over 200 muslims in our church,and even during our 7th year of anniversarry this year over 400 muslims join us from different part of the state‎.” he added.
