The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and Liberation Movement Party (LMP), governorship candidates in Kaduna State, Dr. Polycarp Gankong and Comrade Ezekiel Habila and their entire supporters has declared their unalloyed support for the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in the March 9th 2019 governorship election.
Dr. Gankong, who made the declaration on Thursday in Kaduna in front of their supporters, said though, they are not defecting from their party to join the PDP, but they have resolved to support the PDP governorship candidate Mallam Isa Ashiru, because of the way and manner governor Nasir el-Rufai has handled security situation in the state.
He said, they made the decision not under any form of durex or monetary influence but to ensure that Kaduna State get the best going forward.
“In view of this decision, we are calling on all our supporters to masssively support the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the governorship election on the 9th March, 2019.
“We also appeal to our supporters not to be discouraged with the outcome of the Presidential election which was rigged in favour of the ruling party, we must be resolute and determined to come out enmass and vote PDP.
“We still have candidates contesting for State Houses of Assembly for some constituencies and are still contesting, kindly support and vote for them but for the governorship we should all vote for PDP.
Corroborating also, the LM guber candidate Comrade Hahila said, ” In our opinion and those of our party members and teaming supporters, this is the best thing to do move Kaduna State forward and checkmate effectively the reoccurrence of what happened during the Presidential election in the state”.
The duo said, they will mobilize all resources both material and human to support the guber candidate of the PDP to victory and further urged all well meaning citizens of the state to do same.
