Gombe Assembly Approves N34.6 Billion for 2018 LGA budget

The Gombe State House of Assembly has passed into Law, the 2018 Appropriation Bill N34, 675,609,855.63 as against the N31, 550,436,119.00 initially for eleven Local Government Councils in the State presented to the House.

Mr. Solomon Phillip Jissimah Chairman of the Committee said during the presentation of the report that the increase was to adequately carter for some rural roads and other infrastructural projects that were either not funded or under-funded in the initial submission.

He explained that the estimate comprised of a capital expenditure of N8,575,868,355.00 and recurrent expenditure of N26,099,741,500.63, which would be funded with a total revenue of N31,912,378,647.41 and a deficit of N2,763,231,208.22.

Speaker of the House, Nasiru Abubakar Nono commended the timely completion of the assignment and called on the Local Government Councils for prudence and adherence to the financial regulations in implementing the budget.
