​”Save the Children” Trains Kaduna Journalists, CSOs  on Advocacy

A children rights organization, Save the Children, on Monday commenced a two-day “Advocacy qTools Development Workshop” for Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), Media and Health professionals in Kaduna State.

Participants at the workshop are expected to develop advocacy messages that will help in drawing the attention of policy makers to the plights of the vulnerable children in the society, thereby proffering solution to them. 

Save the Children is focused on health and nutrition, education, hunger and livelihoods, child rights governance and child protection in Nigeria.

Speaking at the opening of the workshop, Advocacy Officer of the organization, Mr. Aliyu Danjuma, noted that to be able to deliver quality healthcare services, health workers capacity must be improved upon.

He said, Save the Children as a global organization, have the mandate to ensure that any services that can improve the quality of life of children are provided. 

“What we do is to see how we can improve the lives of orphans and vulnerable children in the society. 

“We are supporting healthcare facilities so they can deliver quality healthcare services. 

“We also have a project where we are working to develop policies that will address issues that directly affect children.” He added. 

Danjuma, urged the media and CSOs not to relent in their advocacy drive for issues that affects children, advising them to always articulate their messages in such a way that it could bring solution.
