​NGO, Assures Widows of Military Personnel of Continued Support


The Lieutenant Col. Kabiru Yusuf Help for Heroes foundation in Kaduna has assured military widows of its continued support in all their endeavours.

The president of the foundation Alhaji Mashood Kayode Yusuf  gave the assurances while presenting relief items to widows in Kaduna and Abuja as part of its end of the year activities and in the spirit of the upcoming Christmas celebration. 

Represented by the Matron Hajiya Shola Raji, the President said the charity organisation is committed to supporting the military widows in any way possible to provide succour for them and their families. 

He called on the well to do individuals and other Philanthropists to contribute their own quota to improving the lives of widows and the less privileged in the society.

Addressing the widows at the foundation’s office in Kaduna on recently, the matron stressed that the organisation is being funded solely by the president a UK based Philanthropist in person of Alhaji Mashood kayode yusuf and called on the widows to dispel any rumour that the Charity is being sponsored by any Government or donor agency.

“This Foundation is a non- governmental organisation that has been set up to immortalize late lieutenant col. Kabiru Yusuf who died defending his father land. Please be assured that we have not collected any fund from any Government, MIWA or any donor agency, this charity is being funded solely by the family of late Lieutenant Kabiru Yusuf because they understand the plight of the widows and want to support them in any way necessary”

In a show of appreciation, some of the widows thanked the Foundation for the gesture.

“We want to thank this NGO for the assistance they are giving to us, may God continue to bless and reward them for remembering us and wanting to share in our grief, we thank God for using them to help us”

The foundation had on Wednesday 20th December donated relief items to the Military widows Association  (MIWA) during its end of the year get together held at Abacha Barracks (Mogadishu Cantonment) Area 7, Abuja on Wednesday.

The president explained that the foundation was set up to immortalize the late Lieutenant Col. Kabiru Yusuf who died while defending his father land, decided to support MIWA to assure them that they are not alone and to celebrate with them by thanking God for sparing their lives so far.

Other members of the Foundation present at the event include Alhaji Bolaji Yusuf a Member of the Board of Directors, and the wife of late lieutenant col. Kabiru Yusuf, Mrs Bashirat Yusuf among others.
